Fellow CrotchedERS I have some really good news…and of course some bad news! I’ll start with the bad news first. School vacation week is over, (bummer!) which means most of you dudes are back in school hitting the books and already waiting for April vacation to swing around! Also the last Midnight Madness was this past weekend, both days had great turnouts but still bummed to see it go! Good news though, we got over a foot a snow last week and there is still tons of powder spots scattered all over the mountain! The MM Slopestyle Competition has been postponed to Sunday, March 7th (Information on event is posted below). The 7th Annual CM Big Air Competition is slowly sneaking up on us, check out the flyer posted below as well! Greg and crew did work last night on CM Terrain Park. There are 7 new features placed throughout the park for your spring riding pleasures, including a refurbished hitching post! Both terrain parks are in mint condition and have plenty of snow to last well into March! I would consider checking out our Spring Fling Pass on sale for $119, once that sucker is in your hand you can ski/ride everyday for the rest of the 09/10 season (plus you get a crazy good deal on the 10/11 CM season pass).
Delta Ghost Rider Bravo…Alpha 10-4 Chud (Just a heads-up if you’re somewhat new to the freestyle side of skiing and snowboarding, I would suggest learning your new tricks in our progression terrain park, Zero-G! As soon as you’re comfortable with rails and jumps then I would scoot on over to CM Terrain Park where you’ll find stepped up features for experienced riders/skiers.) SMART STYLE |

The Freestyle Terrain Safety Initiative, "Smart Style", created by The National Ski Areas Association educates both skiers and riders about the proper use and progression of terrain parks at mountain resorts. the "Smart Style" message along with existing safety messages; will help to heighten the sense of education and awareness about the proper use of terrain parks in a way that is not hard to deliver, or for that matter to digest.
The more people become involved to help spread the word, the better!
There are four main messages that are associated with Smart Style.
- MAKE A PLAN
Every time you use freestyle terrain, make a plan for each feature you want to use. Your speed, approach and take off will directly affect your maneuver and landing. - LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP
Scope around the jumps first, not over them. Know your landings are clear and clear yourself out of the landing area. - EASY STYLE IT
Start small and work your way up. - RESPECT GETS RESPECT
