Race Program - Making great skiers first then great racers

The Crotched Mountain Competition Center offers programs run by Crotched Mountain Snowsports Department. The program is Directed by certified full time professionals who have been helping skiers bring out their personal best over many years. Staffed by part-time employees our coaches work with their athletes on weekends, nights and holidays. As a department within the structure of the mountain, the program benefits from strong support received from all other mountain departments.

“Making great skiers first, then great racers”. This statement reflects our belief that we need to look to the future with skier development. We create great skiers who will have every opportunity to be the fastest racers or the best free skiers. Above all we hope to create life long love of the sport.

Crotched Mountain offers a top notch racing program with a comprehensive training schedule that is geared for up and coming racers who want to compete in USSA races as well as an introduction to racing for youngsters with the developmental programs.

Crotched Mountain will be hosting a race program info night in the lodge on October 11, at 7:00 pm.
Info night is an opportunity for people to learn about the various programs for young skiers interested in racing at Crotched Mountain.

RACE TEAM:
$549 ($599 after Oct. 13)
For ages 8-18

The race team is geared for skiers to who want to improve their racing skills by building their confidence working with experienced coaches who will bring them to the next level of racing with a fun and comprehensive training program. The J5 through J1 level squads will have the opportunity to compete USSA and Open Races around the state and at Crotched Mountain. (Racers 7 years old can be accepted based upon ability.)
**Up to Four(4) parent work days are required**

Practice time is Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Starts early December 2008.

TRAIN-TO-RACE PROGRAM:
$479 ($529 after Oct. 13th)
For Ages 7-12

The train-to-race program is geared toward younger skiers looking to improve their skills on the overall mountain plus get experienced with running a giant slalom race course. This program is for students transitioning from the tigers program onto the race team. It will run for 15 weeks starting December 13th, 2008. Helmets are required.
**Up to Two(2) parent work days are required**

Program days will be Saturday and Sunday from 9:30am - 12:30 pm with one mid-week night during the program.

TIGERS:
$399 ($449 after Oct. 13th)
For ages 5-9

The Tigers is a great way for young skiers get out on the snow with an experienced coach for a three-hour session on Saturday or Sunday mornings throughout the season at a level that is comfortable for them. Each coach has a lot of fun techniques ready to teach your child how to improve their skiing while building their confidence level in their own group of skiing buddies.
**Up to one(1) parent work days are required**

Available Saturday or Sunday mornings from 9:30 am - 12:30 pm.
Starts December 13, 2008.

A Season Pass is required for all programs.

**Parent work days**
In order to keep costs down and our kids racing, parent involvement is a must. We ask that the race parents help out with various jobs including timing, gate judging, referees, course set-up & maintenance, race administration, course marshalls, etc... Parents can opt out of their work day by paying $100 per day committed.

$50 late fee after October 13 for the Race Team, Train-to-race and Tigers programs
